 About Matar Paneer

Matar paneer is a popular North Indian dish of Indian cottage cheese called paneer and peas.  To spice up this pea paneer recipe, spices and green peas are cooked and then soft paneer is added.  It is also known as Matar Paneer Ki Sabji in Hindi.

Tomato, onion paneer, and peas play a major role in this pea paneer recipe. For this pea paneer recipe, the first paste is made of tomato, green chilies, and ginger, then you add cream and mix it.  Then you take a pan and put oil or butter in it and fry garlic and other spices.  Then add this paste and let it cook till no oil comes out.  Then add peas and paneer pieces.  Serve it with rice, butter naan, roti, or paratha.

I have always loved making paneer and paneer-based recipes.  Most of the recipes I have written in my blog are cheese recipes.  There are numerous ways to prepare paneer curry and one such popular north Indian curry recipe is the pea paneer recipe which is known for its taste. Pea paneer is perfect when you are in the mood to enjoy some paneer curry at home. This is a spicy and  Delicious paneer pea curry that you will love.

 INGREDIENTS 


1.  Paneer - 200 grams


2.  Peas -  half cup


3.  Tomato - 3-4


4.  Green chili - 3


5.  Ginger - 1-inch piece


6.  Cream  - half bowl


7.   oil - 2 tbsp


8.  Cumin - half a teaspoon


9.  Turmeric - 1/4 tsp


10.  Coriander powder - 1/2  tsp


11.  Red chili powder -  1/4 tsp


12.  Garam Masala -  1/4 tsp


13.  Salt - as per taste


 14.  Green coriander - 2 tbsp 


INSTRUCTIONS 


(1)  Grind tomatoes, green chilies, and ginger finely with a mixer.  Add cream to this paste and run the mixer once again.


(2)  Cut paneer into square pieces and boil peas with half a cup of water.


(3)  Put oil in the pan and heat it.  Put cumin seeds in hot oil.  After crackling cumin, add turmeric powder, coriander powder, and chili powder and fry stirring it 3-4 times with a spoon, and now add the spices you have prepared by grinding and frying until you see oil floating on the spices.



(4) After roasting the masala, add as much water as you want to make the gravy as thick or thin as you like. 


(5)  Put boiled peas and salt in the gravy, after it starts boiling add paneer, and let it boil for 3-4 minutes. 


(6)  Matar paneer curry is ready.  Turn the gas off.


(7)  Put garam masala and half-green coriander in the vegetable.  Take out the vegetable in a bowl and garnish it with the remaining green coriander.  


(8) Hot peas vegetable cheese, bread, naan, or chapati Serve and eat with everyone.
